Anniversary posts are my absolute favorite because 1. I get to reminisce not only about the wedding day, but also of the entire planning journey with my couples and 2. Because I’m semi-catching up on life and posting legitimate wedding day photos in detail!
Today is the glorious one year anniversary of Melissa and Taulbee. Meet Melissa. I had the pleasure of receiving a call from her back in 2014. Her older sister, Ashley, was getting married, and she was the amazing maid of honor, and was doing her due diligence of finding her sister a wedding planner.
It was through planning her sister’s beautiful wedding that I got to know Melissa and the type of person that she is. Melissa’s love language is her generosity. Generosity in every sense of the word. Of her time, resources and heart. Every gift was meticulously thought out, and given so selflessly. When Melissa got engaged, I got to experience this gem of a bride, and loved every minute of their engagement.
Meet Taulbee. He put a ring on it, moved Melissa out to Nashville, and finished out grad school all during their engagement. I met him at two previous weddings as a guest, and he was the life of the party. Plus, he’s a redhead, and y’all know that I think redheads are the bomb (or whatever cool phrase the kids are saying it these days).
Their wedding was a laidback soiree at Mopac Event Center in Fort Worth. This amazingly cool venue is a concert venue by nature and garage doors that open out into the most incredible outdoor space. We found this venue with just one wedding under its belt, and got to see it fully come to life. Melissa and Taulbee wanted a very intimate, yet carefree setting, with no rigid structure of scheduled events and where their guests could just partake in food and drink and dance at their leisure.
Being a freshly native Nashvillian (googled it – it is etymologically correct), Melissa was all about the entertainment. She wanted to enjoy live music and enjoy it with all her friends and family. So she hired a freaking band from Tennessee called For a Good Time, Call... and it was the best of both her home states and UGH THEY WERE SO GOOD everyone had a blast!
Kudos to the vendor team!
